INFECTIOUS DISEASE PHYSICIAN- (Part-Time)
HIV Specialty Care
Are you passionate about health equity for vulnerable communities and access to care for people living with HIV?
Join the Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) team to provide integrated, trauma-informed, "whole-person" care within a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. Our mission-driven Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated Physician (MD or DO) to provide services in our established Ryan White clinic to include:
- HIV Primary Care
- HIV Specialty Care
- HIV Prevention
- Hepatitis & STI Care
- Addiction Medicine
- LGBTQ+ Healthcare
This is an opportunity to practice meaningful medicine in a collaborative, supportive environment while making a measurable impact in the community.
While delivering integrated HIV specialty care, you will also serve as a clinical leader, collaborating with a high-performing interdisciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, therapists, dentists, and care management/ support teams.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy is required. Completion of residency from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current unrestricted North Carolina MD or DO licensure, DEA, and BLS certification are required.
Eligibility: Must be Medicaid and Medicare eligible
Experience:
- 3+ years of provider experience.
- AAHIVM HIV Specialist certification (preferred).
- Previous FQHC or outpatient medical office experience (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian (preferred).
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume panel with compassion and empathy.
Compensation & Exceptional Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000 – $110,240 (assuming 20 hours weekly)
Hourly rate: $96 to $106
Incentive Plan: Quarterly bonuses up to $10,000 per year

- NHSC Loan Repayment Program/ NC Loan Repayment Program: We are located in a medically underserved area that may qualify you for significant Federal National Health Service Corps and NC State Loan Repayment Program. Pro-rated awards are given for Part-Time employment
- Provider Incentives: Eligible for the state High Needs Service Bonus incentive program (not contingent on loans). Pro-rated awards are given for Part-Time employment
- 403(b) Retirement: Savings plan with employer match.
- Competitive CME allowance & hours for certifications, licensing fees, and continuing education.
Work/Life Balance:
- Schedule: 18 to 25 hours weekly. No weekends or holiday work required.
- Daily schedule: Flexible work schedules available.
- Time Off: Eligible for up to 11 Paid Holidays + 2 Floating Holidays.
- PTO: 78 hours accrued annually (based on 20 hours weekly).
- Insurance: Virtual telehealth.
