Position Overview

The Grand Contracting is hiring a Superintendent / Project Manager to support and oversee residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Charlotte market. This role is ideal for someone with experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, or a field leader ready for more ownership.

We are open to candidates who are looking to grow into a larger leadership role, as well as more experienced professionals who can bring strong field coordination, scheduling, communication, and project oversight skills to the team. The right person will be dependable, organized, proactive, and confident managing job-site activity while keeping projects on track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and help manage residential and commercial construction projects from kickoff through completion

  • Supervise job-site activity and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and schedules

  • Keep projects moving on time and help identify issues before they create delays

  • Maintain high standards for workmanship, organization, professionalism, and site readiness

  • Communicate clearly with ownership, clients, subcontractors, and trade partners

  • Track project progress, site needs, schedules, and day-to-day execution

  • Review plans, scopes, field details, and project expectations to ensure smooth delivery

  • Help manage budgets, material flow, and field coordination to support successful project outcomes

  • Conduct site walks and maintain awareness of quality, safety, and schedule performance

  • Represent The Grand Contracting professionally in the field and with clients

Qualifications
  • Experience in construction project management, assistant project management, field supervision, site leadership, or a similar role

  • Experience in residential and/or commercial construction

  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through

  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts in an active field environment

  • Comfortable coordinating subcontractors, schedules, and on-site priorities

  • Strong communication skills across phone, text, email, and in-person interactions

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of responsibilities

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience as an APM / PM, a site superintendent, or a seasoned PM

  • Enjoys being in the field and staying close to the work

  • Can balance project coordination with hands-on site leadership

  • Wants room for growth with a smaller, expanding company
