Loader - 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

Load and unload trucks according to company standards and customer requirements, ensuring that all shipments all are handled efficiently and safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Load and unload products from trucks, ensuring that product is handled with care to avoid damage.
  • Dock Geo trailers for loading and unloading, following all dock safety procedures.
  • Inspect trailers for damage and verify correct trailer numbers before loading.
  • Load all staged pallets by route into the assigned trailers. Secure the load with load straps every fourth row.
  • Ensure that the correct product and quantities are loaded in order for delivery, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Move trailer from the dock and park in designated parking area once loaded.
  • Assist with the organization and management of inventory within the warehouse, maintaining accurate records and ensuring products are stored correctly.
  • Perform all check-in duties assigned and maintain proper records (receivers, pick tickets, and other usual and customary record keeping) for each individual task according to the warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • Check inventory daily for FEFO (first expired first out) in chilled cooler.
  • Operate a forklift/pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner and perform all required safety and pre-trip checks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that the warehouse is free from hazards and clutter.
  • Work well with others in a team-orientated atmosphere.
  • Other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Licensed and trained to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to safely maneuver tractor and trailer in tight spaces
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Must possess thorough understanding of warehouse process and procedures
  • Basic understanding of materials management

ABILITIES
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Review and adhere to all Pepsi of Greenville policies, including safety.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic technology skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to hear, talk, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Vision requirements to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, moving, and stacking materials.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling various products.
  • Must be able to climb onto and off of forklift/pallet jack throughout the shift (8-10 hours per day).
  • Riding is constant, and bending, stooping, and lifting are occasional during the work shift.
