In your role as an Order Picker/Machine Operator in our natural stone yard, you will provide our customers with exceptional service and support through selecting and loading material for the customers and trucks as well as keeping the yard and equipment neat and orderly. You will be using skid steers and loaders, putting any machine experience you might have to good use. Reporting directly to the Yard Manager, you will be supporting the rest of the Yard team. We will provide training to the right fit, who is hard working and capable of following clear directions.
Practically speaking, here's what you'll do on a day-to-day basis…
Customer Service
• Assist and load customers with materials they require in a safe and efficient manner
• Accurately tally/measure orders marked by customers.
• Call orders up to the office so that the paperwork can be prepared for the customer
• Communicate and build relationships with customers to know them and understand their product needs better.
Yard Duties
• Ensure material from suppliers is put away efficiently, safely and neatly in designated areas when unloading and ensure all necessary paperwork is signed and turned into the office
• Follow the directions given by managers to organize and maintain neatness in the yard by organizing and re-stacking skids of material and other projects as assigned.
The Right Fit
You are currently ready for work and are able to work long hours during the busy season. You are a friendly person who has worked in a yard or shop in the past and is comfortable around and working with large machinery. Maybe you have some experience in the landscaping, building or warehouse industry and are looking for a change. Or perhaps you have an interest in natural stone and masonry and you are searching for new experience within your chosen career path. Wherever you came from, you’ll be a great fit if you possess the following characteristics.
• Friendly and able to communicate well with customers
• Ability to take initiative
• Detail oriented
• 2 or more years experience with skid steer and loader
• Commitment to health and safety regulations and protocols
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Good organizational skills and able to problem solve
• Mathematical skills - ability to calculate simple formulas as necessary.
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Able to lift 75lb or more and move it and out of equipment through out the day
Qualifications
• Experience operating a skid steer and loader.
• Able to work 7-5 Monday - Friday during busy season with the potential of a winter layoff.
• Able to work well with a team
What we can offer you:
This is a full-time hourly position. Typically, you’ll work Monday to Friday from 7:00 am-5:00 pm during the busy season. Winter months may involve potential layoffs, though some work might still be offered outside regular business hours. As a member of our team, you’ll enjoy:
