Human Resources Assistant at The Arc Madison Cortland – Oneida, New York

SUMMARY: Assist the organization’s human resources department by planning and implementing onboarding employment policies and practices. Support the daily human resources activities. Acts as a liaison between HR, new hires and current employees, promote effective communication and prompt resolution of inquiries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other HR duties may be assigned.

• Conduct required background checks for new hires.
• Assist with orientation process of all new hires.
• Ensures compliance of I9 paperwork for all employees.
• Support and back up other HR functions as necessary.
• Assist the Director of HR with all other personnel matters and projects as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree and one year of human resources related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. HRIS experience preferred. Knowledge of EEO, State and Federal Regulations and Guidelines a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and competent computer skills.
• Highly organized, excellent time management and ability to multitask.
• Strong attention to detail required.
