The Opportunity

You will serve as a high-impact leader, immediately taking command of approximately six active commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects across New York City. This role empowers you to stabilize live projects, protect margins, and drive execution through your expertise in technical systems and financial project control.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Assume immediate management of active mechanical projects to assess schedule status, procurement needs, and cost exposure.

  • Direct a growing portfolio of 8 to 10 simultaneous projects while maintaining strict oversight of timelines and profitability.

  • Negotiate and aggressively pursue change orders to ensure project financial health and accurate contract alignment.

  • Coordinate seamless communication between general contractors, owners, engineers, and field foremen to resolve logistical bottlenecks.

  • Evaluate labor productivity and identify schedule risks early to implement decisive corrective actions.

  • Execute comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and procurement logs, to ensure total transparency.

  • Strengthen project closeout processes by maintaining full ownership of technical requirements and final billing coordination.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience specifically within commercial HVAC or mechanical construction.

  • Deep technical knowledge of ductwork, piping, VRF systems, controls, and ventilation.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale active projects under high-pressure conditions.

  • Advanced command of Excel and professional project management software systems.

  • Strong understanding of contract language and the ability to work independently to make rapid decisions.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience navigating the specific regulatory and logistical landscape of New York City construction.

  • Demonstrated ability to walk into ongoing, complex projects and stabilize them without immediate supervision.

  • Strategic mindset that balances field realities with rigorous financial project controls.
