About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The Cardiac Device Clinic RN works in assisting in pacemaker and defibrillator interrogation and wound site checks in outpatient setting. Serves as lead to Clinic staff and ensures that Holter Monitor scans are completed for the purposes of producing optimal diagnostic reports to be interpreted by a physician, interpretation of EKG and oversees maintenance, accuracy and billing of the trans-telephonic pacemaker check appointments, billing and schedules.
The RN provides patient care based on the nursing process considering the physical and developmental age of the patient in compliance with the organizational P/P and North Carolina State Board of Nursing regulations. He/she is responsible for the clinical management of assigned patients. The RN provides direction and supervision to the LPN, NA, and unit clerical staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care by coordination of the patient care team. The RN maintains current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. ACLS and BLS certifications. Must be proficient in keyboard operations and basic computer applications.
Preferred: BSN and specialty certification.
EPIC experience.
Cath Lab, EP , and/or Critical Care work experience .
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to the age group(s) of patients assigned to the unit. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Supervises: Provides oversight and guidance to LPN/RNs regarding assessments/reassessments, care rendered, and teaching performed by LPN/RN, as well as care delivered by other members of team. Provides oversight into orders processed by Front Office Staff. Provides input with respect to clinical/technical competence but has no responsibility for personnel actions and decisions.
