Position Summary
-
The basic function of a Respiratory Technician Assistant is to assist in the equipment and supply issues of the Respiratory Therapy Department. Under the direction of the Manager, or Team Leader. The Respiratory Technician Assistant is responsible for setting up and cleaning various types of Respiratory Care Equipment and performing routine Oxygen rounds. May receive, secure and transport medications as necessary.

Current enrollment in Respiratory Therapy Program, in good standing - Required

Experience

2-3 Years Respiratory - Preferred

Core Job Functions
- Daily inventory performed and restocked as needed. Disposes of contaminated circuitry appropriately. Ventilators cleaned and decontaminated.
- Initiate treatment as per physician order. Replace humidifiers and/or therapy appliances as needed.
- Initiates treatment per physician order. Documents results in patient chart. Maintains equipment check out for overnight studies.
