Job Summary

The Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily delivery operations, managing delivery drivers, and ensuring timely, safe, and accurate food deliveries. This role focuses on driver performance, route efficiency, compliance with food safety and transportation regulations, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Driver Management

  • Supervise, schedule, and support delivery drivers
  • Conduct driver onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies
  • Address driver issues, conflicts, and disciplinary actions when necessary

Delivery Operations

  • Coordinate daily delivery routes and assignments
  • Ensure on-time delivery of food orders while maintaining quality and temperature standards
  • Monitor delivery progress and resolve delays or customer complaints
  • Optimize routes to improve efficiency and reduce fuel costs

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safe driving practices and compliance with traffic laws
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and handling standards
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure maintenance schedules are followed
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, or delivery issues and prepare reports

Performance & Reporting

  • Track driver KPIs such as on-time delivery, fuel usage, and customer feedback
  • Prepare daily and weekly operational reports
  • Recommend improvements to delivery processes and driver productivity

Customer & Team Coordination

  • Liaise with customer service, warehouse, and kitchen teams
  • Handle escalated customer issues related to deliveries
  • Foster a positive, professional, and motivated driver team environment

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional logistics or management training preferred)
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or driver supervisor (food delivery preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of route planning and GPS tracking systems
  • Understanding of food safety and transportation regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial/institution dining such as school or healthcare facility
  • SERV Safe Certification
  • Employee Management experience including Scheduling, Disciplinary Measures and Employee Recognition Programs
  • Record Keeping and Budget Management
  • Create and Submit Reports

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain working rapport with residents, patients and community
  • Ensure complaints, suggestions and public relations are priority functions
  • Support GM in communications with Client Contracts and all Departments
  • Maintain Safe and Sanitary working environment
  • Train Staff and ensure continuing training for all employees
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by GM
