About the role
The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting Operations by executing shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities. This position ensures accurate, timely movement of materials and products while maintaining compliance with quality system requirements. Responsibilities include receiving materials from suppliers, shipping products to customers and vendors, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
What you'll do
- Receive all incoming deliveries, including signing for packages, completing receiving transactions in the ERP system, and transferring materials to designated locations.
- Prepare and execute all outbound shipments—domestic and international—including customer orders, vendor shipments, product returns, and other miscellaneous shipments.
- Perform physical inventory movements and related ERP transactions, ensuring inventory accuracy and traceability.
- Create, update, and maintain controlled documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant operations area in accordance with company and quality standards.
- Assist with product inspections, kitting, and manufacturing activities as needed.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries and troubleshoot shipping or delivery issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with an ERP system.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and solve problems independently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to follow work instructions and quality procedures to ensure compliance with quality system requirements.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms to handle materials, and communicate verbally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The role may require the ability to travel independently by car or airplane and work outside standard business hours as needed to support operational or business requirements.
