The Honors College is seeking an Academic AdvisementCoordinator to play a vital role in supporting student success andadvancing HC's mission of fostering Community, Creativity, and Curiosity.This position provides comprehensive academic advisement services thatpositively impact student retention, admission, graduation, and overalleducational achievement.
This role offers a broader and more nuanced scope ofacademic advising than many traditional advising positions. The AcademicAdvisement Coordinator will manage multiple projects and deadlines, workefficiently with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively both orallyand in writing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Position Description linked below, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following primary duties:
- Provide comprehensive consultation, guidance, and academic advising to Honors College (HC) undergraduate students regarding academic planning, progress, and long-term educational strategies.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in honors advising, effectively connecting students with relevant resources and services across the University of New Mexico (UNM) and collaborating with advising teams in other colleges and schools.
- Maintain, process, and update a wide range of records and documentation related to students' academic progress and goals. This includes writing, editing, and coordinating a variety of reports and academic advising materials for HC leadership, such as course catalogs, educational resources, training manuals, and related documents. The role also contributes to the development and revision of advising practices, recruitment initiatives, and curricular programs.
- Act in a deputized capacity to support, coordinate, and provide guidance to HC student support staff on advising matters, as appropriate, and in the absence of an advising manager or supervisor.
