Organizational Background

The Iroquois Center for Human Development (ICHD) is a Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center serving southwest Kansas since 1968. Additionally, ICHD is a certified CCBHC in the State of Kansas. ICHD provides an array of services for residents of Clark, Commanche, Edwards, and Kiowa counties. The ICHD home office is located in Greensburg with branch offices located in Coldwater, Ashland, and Kinsley. The ICHD is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors representing the participating counties and the 2026 operating budget for ICHD is approximately $5,000,000.

ICHD provides a comprehensive array of services for a rural community mental health center including adult services, children services, consultation and education services, crisis services, medication services, substance/drug use, veterans’ services and tobacco cessation programs. Case management, peer support, medication assisted treatment, and housing programs are also provided by ICHD.

Currently, there are 32 full-time and 20 part-time staff employed at ICHD. ICHD is located in Greensburg, a community of 740 residents located in the southwest region of the state. Greensburg is home of the Big Well and the most LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) buildings per capita in the U.S. Greensburg is approximately 100 miles west of Wichita and 45 miles east of Dodge City. Position Summary

The Clinical Director is a senior executive leader responsible for overseeing all clinical programs at the Iroquois Center for Human Development, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in the State of Kansas. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based services across the organization’s continuum of care, including Community Based Services (CBS) for children and families, Community Support Services (CSS), and Outpatient Therapy for children and adults. The Clinical Director reports directly to the Executive Director and may serve as Acting Executive Director in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for all clinical programs within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, CCBHC requirements, CMHC standards, licensure guidelines, and accreditation expectations.

Clinical Oversight

  • Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centered clinical services across CBS, CSS, Crisis Services, Medical Services, and Outpatient programs.
  • Oversee clinical program development, quality improvement, clinical workflows, and service delivery models.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Provide direct supervision to program leaders.
  • Support professional development, coaching, and training for clinical leadership and staff, and foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable workplace culture.

Quality & Compliance

  • Lead efforts related to quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee compliance with Medicaid, CCBHC reporting requirements, state licensing expectations, and audit readiness.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key clinical representative with community partners, state agencies, healthcare organizations, and referral sources.
  • Advocate for mental health services and engage in community education as needed.

The Clinical Director position requires the following qualifications and attributes:

  1. Demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and skills - has proven ability to develop and implement high-quality, effective, and comprehensive services for those seeking services at ICHD.
  2. Commitment to clinical quality improvement to ensure services are performed consistently within established clinical standards and conformity with accreditation, regulatory, and licensing standards.
  3. Excellent organizational and team management skills, including program planning, program implementation, and program evaluation.
  4. Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centered clinical services across all services and programs.
  5. Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable workplace culture.
  6. Ability to lead and support all ICHD clinical staff by providing professional development, coaching, and training.
  7. Collaborate with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to develop, implement, and evaluate organizational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
  8. Serve as a key clinical representative with community partners, state agencies, healthcare organizations, and referral sources.
  9. Ability to provide thought leadership, vision, and inspiration in fulfilling the programmatic goals and objectives of the Iroquois Center for Human Development.
  10. Assist the ICHD leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and budgeting of clinical operations and programs.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active and unrestricted Kansas clinical license (e.g., LSCSW, LCPC, LCP) required.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in behavioral health, community mental health, or related settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CCBHC requirements, CMHC operations, Medicaid-funded services, and Kansas mental health regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and leading program development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

The salary for the ICHD Clinical Director position will be $120,000. The position comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, vacation, sick/personal leave, and paid holidays.
