We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operation by maintaining and repairing plant equipment, production machinery, and building systems. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and facility systems to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment. A great member of the maintenance team is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that manufacturing equipment will be maintained to carry on smoothly and maximize efficiency and profits.

  • Maintains a safe working environment by strictly adhering to safety protocols, properly using PPE, machine guarding, hazard controls, and LOTO. Immediately identifies, reports, and corrects unsafe conditions related to equipment, facilities, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, production machinery, and the overall facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Support maintenance of building systems including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, and general construction-related repairs.
  • Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, modifications, and relocation projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Electrician on electrical issues beyond basic troubleshooting.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns in a timely and safe manner
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation using established systems.
  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • May operate handsaw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, electric drill, Bridgeport and Metal Lathe, welding and cutting equipment.
  • Removes ice and snow from walkways, roads, roofs and parking lot during winter months.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; technical school, trade certification, or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • General working knowledge of equipment and systems commonly used in building trades: mechanical and industrial equipment, plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC, carpentry and light construction, welding, and fabrication.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow manuals, drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
  • Understanding of safety risks in a manufacturing environment and the ability to apply safe work practices when performing mechanical, electrical, welding, HVAC, and facility maintenance tasks.
  • Forklift certification required.
