About This Position
Tax Manager - Reading, PA
Who: A tax professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing diverse client engagements.
What: Lead multiple tax engagements, review complex returns, develop staff, and provide proactive tax planning and consulting services.
When: Hiring immediately to support the growing Reading, PA market.
Where: Reading, Pennsylvania on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week in office).

Position Overview:
The Tax Manager will oversee a wide range of client engagements, prepare and review complex returns, resolve technical tax issues, and provide innovative tax planning solutions while developing tax staff and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring high-quality planning, consulting, and compliance services.
● Prepare and review complex returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.
● Review team members’ work for accuracy, completeness, and budget adherence.
● Work closely with internal managers and partners to maintain and grow client relationships.
● Mentor and coach tax staff at various levels.
● Resolve technical tax issues and respond to IRS and state tax authority inquiries.
● Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables and manage expectations.
● Identify additional service opportunities and introduce relevant firm offerings.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
● Active CPA license required.
● 5+ years of current or recent public accounting tax experience.
● Strong knowledge of IRS regulations and tax authority standards.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
● Proficiency with tax software and strong overall computer skills.
