Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production process to ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. This role manages production schedules, coordinates cross‑functionally with supporting departments, and leads a team of production employees in achieving operational goals. The position requires a blend of office and floor‑based work, with approximately 50/50 time split, including the ability to stand for 3+ hours and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Train, supervise, and provide ongoing guidance and support to production staff, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to operational standards.
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, output quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement, quality control, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
- Provide hands‑on instruction and troubleshooting support to team members on the production floor.
- Manage inventory levels to maintain adequate materials and components.
- Prepare and present production performance updates to senior leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role.
- 2+ years of experience in planning/scheduling manufacturing processes required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- MS Office proficiency required.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
- Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- CSI ERP software experience a plus.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work 50% on the production floor and 50% in an office environment, including standing for 3+ hours.
- Ability to repetitively lift 30 lbs when needed.
