About This Position

Position Description: The Mission of the Funeral Ambassador is to increase funeral home net revenue every year - combination of increasing call volumes and ARPC of the funeral home.
The Funeral Ambassador will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks during the funeral and memorialization process and assists the Funeral Director and other staff of the home to ensure services run smoothly and that the expectations of client families and their guests are exceeded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Greets and directs client families and their guests to the correct chapel in which services are being held.
  • Directs visitors to guest book and distributes memorialization materials as need.
  • Answers questions and assist with serving the needs of the client families, their guests, and other visitors during the visitation and memorialization event.
  • Receives and places flowers in chapel.
  • Ensure that public spaces such as lobby, chapel, restrooms and reception/rest areas are clean and prepared prior to, and at the conclusion of scheduled services.
  • Oversees parking area and ensures family and ceremonial vehicles are arranged for formal procession.
  • Ensures refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
  • Assists with directing and/or transporting families and service attendees to and from service locations outside of the funeral home.
  • Actively serves as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
  • Represents the business in a professional manner with regard to personal appearance and demeanor while performing duties or representing the home.
  • May serve as a member of the transit team tasked with bringing the deceased into the care of the funeral home.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to actively respond to the requests of the clients families and their guest.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure rooms are cleaned and items are arranged in ways that provide comfort to families and friends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • No funeral industry experience required.
  • Valid state issued driver's license and good driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting; however, some duties may be performed outdoors.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, and be able to lift 20 pounds.
