This role is a client-facing, highly collaborative position at the intersection of project coordination, data analysis, and sales tax expertise. The Sales Tax Analyst will own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new clients, ensuring smooth implementation of sales tax processes while serving as the primary point of contact. You will manage timelines, coordinate across internal teams, and translate complex tax and transaction data into actionable insights for clients. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to simplify complex processes for clients. You will also drive internal alignment, proactively anticipate challenges, and continuously improve onboarding workflows. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, people-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and enjoys turning complexity into clarity.
Accountabilities:- Own the client onboarding process from sign-up through full implementation, managing timelines, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure a smooth experience
- Serve as the primary client liaison, translating complex sales tax concepts and data into clear, actionable guidance
- Coordinate across internal teams to ensure work is properly sequenced, handoffs occur on time, and everyone is aligned on next steps
- Analyze large transaction datasets to ensure accurate front-end setup and mapping of client data for tax filing purposes
- Provide consultative support to clients on sales tax processes, obligations, and implementation decisions
- Continuously improve onboarding workflows and documentation to increase efficiency, clarity, and scalability
- Track onboarding performance metrics, including timeliness, client satisfaction, and data quality
Requirements:
- 12 years of experience in project coordination, accounting, sales tax, or related roles
- Experience managing projects with multiple moving parts, deadlines, and dependencies
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with complex, data-heavy spreadsheets
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and empathetically
- High emotional intelligence, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to build trust quickly with clients and teammates
- Growth-minded, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to handle ambiguity and multiple priorities
- Prior sales tax experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn deeply is essential
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity for process improvement

- Target salary of $65,000 USD
