About This Position

Burgess Construction is a fast-growing residential outdoor living company specializing in custom decks and deck covers. We’re looking for an experienced Deck Installer who takes pride in their craft, works well with a team, and wants to grow with a company that values quality and integrity.

What You’ll Do

  • Install residential decks and deck covers according to plans and specifications
  • Read blueprints and follow engineered drawings
  • Measure, cut, and assemble framing and decking materials with precision
  • Perform demolition and site prep as needed
  • Ensure jobsite safety and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with the production manager and crew to complete projects on time

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of professional deck building or carpentry experience
  • Strong knowledge of framing, decking systems, and code requirements
  • Ability to work with power tools and hand tools safely
  • Experience with composite decking (Trex, TimberTech, etc.) is a plus
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or with a crew
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation:

$58,000 - $62,400 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Meet safety regulations and OSHA requirements by removing debris and hazardous materials to keep the job site safe and clean
  • Adhere to all directions from the construction manager, and work with other team members to complete construction projects accurately
  • Install residential decks and deck covers with precision, ensuring each project meets our high standards of quality and integrity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineered drawings, translating them into actionable construction plans.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble framing and decking materials accurately, maintaining a focus on craftsmanship and detail.
  • Perform demolition and site preparation tasks as needed, ensuring a clean and safe work environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the production manager and crew, fostering a team-oriented approach to complete projects on time.
  • Ensure jobsite safety and cleanliness, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to protect yourself and your team.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
  • Comfortable working in inclement weather, like extreme temperatures, rain, etc.
  • Carry a valid driver's license
  • This position relies on physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to work safely with power tools and hand tools, prioritizing safety for yourself and your teammates.
  • Experience with composite decking materials like Trex and TimberTech is a plus, adding versatility to your skill set.
