Summary

Under limited supervision is responsible for developing and managing treasury management customers and prospects within assigned market and portfolio. Manages relationships and negotiates with both internal and external customers. Analyzes profitability of customer relationships of new business opportunities. Serves as a product manager as directed by the overall relationship of client or prospect. Provides timely and accurate reporting for required sales and business development reports. This position requires the ability to acquire and utilize knowledge of commercial banking products and services, marketing and sales programs, computer hardware and software usage, and bank operations requirements, as well as ability to perform professional product demonstrations and installations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Treasury Management

  1. Consistently conducts sales calls and site visits to prospective customers to develop new deposit volume, treasury management, remote deposit capture, merchant services, and/or other business banking products and services.
  2. Develops an effective tracking system to ensure regular follow-up on targeted prospects. Tracks and tabulates sales efforts and follows-up on activity.
  3. Consults regularly with existing customers to ensure proper servicing of accounts and to cross sell additional products and services. Provides customer education regarding information security, corporate account takeover, fraud prevention and related items.
  4. Provides agreements to customers for depository products and treasury management services, responds to questions concerning such agreements. Reviews agreements for proper completion and execution by customer and obtain approvals and signatures on such agreements from appropriate bank officers. Underwrites ACH limit requests and works with commercial lenders to set and monitor limits.
  5. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with annual review of treasury management procedures, identifying and implementing changes in the written procedures as needed. Works closely with the Risk Management Officer & Operations to ensure all Treasury Management and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) agreements are current with regulatory and risk management requirements.
  6. Performs annual audits and reviews for customers utilizing treasury management services including ACH limits, remote deposit capture, sweep/repurchase accounts, and large dollar deposit accounts.
  7. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with recommendations regarding the core product and services menu of the treasury management area of the bank, including business deposit account products. Recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy.
  8. Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity in the treasury management product area. Monitors competing banks’ treasury management and business banking products and services.
  9. Assist VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with analyzing and developing treasury management and commercial deposit production standards for the bank consistent with the bank’s overall strategic plan.
  10. Identifies business development opportunities and makes referrals to other bank staff to enhance both interest and non-interest income opportunities.
  11. Works closely and effectively with other departments of the bank to cross-sell treasury management products to further strengthen and expand the customer relationship, ensure smooth working relationships, and maximize customer service.
  12. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with the maintenance of the treasury management customer database and analyzing treasury management production reports.
  13. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager in conducting regular analysis of business accounts for profitability and ensures the product type is appropriate for the business customer’s needs. Makes recommendations to increase profitability.
  14. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors providing Treasury Management, Remote Deposit Capture, and Merchant Services support.
  15. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with conducting regular meetings with Operations staff to discuss operational issues, conduct product training and encourage teamwork.
  16. Assists VP/Commercial Deposit Services Manager with providing training and/or general information to bank personnel regarding commercial deposit products and services.
  17. Adheres to all State and Federal banking regulations.

Education and/or Experience

Prefer Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in a business-related field and at least four years of commercial lending and/or cash management experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Application/Online Internet (Cash Management) software; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prefer experience with Loan software and Fiserv.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to travel to meet clients and to attend meetings at other locations using own transportation. Must have strong business development skills.
