About This Position
Position Overview:
The Admissions Representative is responsible for obtaining patient demographic, insurance, and financial information along with other criteria as provided by client entities. Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of patient data collection, intake calls, conducting prescreens, scheduling intakes and admissions, and managing insurance processes with incoming patients. This is a full-time position.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Facilitate intake calls, prescreens, and admissions processes
- Obtain patient demographic, insurance, and financial information
- Ensure daily coverage of New Patient Call Lines
- Manage communication regarding patients
- Coordinate and encourage adherence to schedules and treatment times
- Provide informative material for patients
- Maintain and communicate daily intake census/patient tracking
- Track and collect insurance information for billing
- Handle patient financial collection and compliance documentation
- Manage billing and utilization review
- BS degree in Healthcare, Business, Social Work, or related field (preferred)
- Experience in Mental Health or Addiction services
- Experience with KIPU or other EMRs (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficiency with video conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams)
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience working with patients in behavioral health or addiction recovery
- Familiarity with insurance verification and billing processes
- Understanding of intake and admissions workflows in healthcare settings
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, scheduling, and planning capabilities. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, awareness, patience, and social perceptiveness. Understanding of and respect for diverse cultural and spiritual beliefs and gender-specific issues. Fosters all inclusive relationship building within the organization.

This job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
