Position Overview

The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for performing diversified assembly and testing operations on hydraulic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards. This role ensures products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements prior to shipment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly and testing tasks as directed by Shop Leads, Supervisors, or Operations Management.
  • Assemble, fit, align, and adjust hydraulic components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to meet engineering specifications.
  • Set up and operate test stand equipment independently and perform pressure and functional testing.
  • Interpret and work from assembly drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and gauging devices to verify tolerances and quality.
  • Identify defects, malfunctions, or quality issues and take corrective action or escalate appropriately.
  • Document inspection results, test data, and production records accurately and timely.
  • Maintain or exceed established production rates while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Perform light preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties for assigned work areas and equipment.
  • Follow all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, testing, or manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience with hydraulic assembly or valve testing.
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
Work Schedule & Environment
  • Monday–Friday; hours vary based on production demand, with occasional weekend work as needed.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing/shop environment
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and fumes
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts
  • Ability to work at heights using step ladders as needed
