Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineer position is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs to Northfield Hospital & Clinics plumbing, electrical, HVAC and all other building systems. Utilizes knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection and security systems to ensure proper operations and to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $28.56—$40.32.
This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
    Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. Conduct periodic general preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, bearings, lights, etc.) and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include, but are not limited to air handling units, water pumping systems, cooling plant, boilers and all plumbing system components. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Respond quickly to emergency situations. Perform minor electrical and plumbing repair and troubleshooting. Perform water treatment testing and documentation. Perform all assigned work to ensure the safety of all building tenants and the continuous operation of the site. Prioritize service calls and follow-up upon completion. Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend equipment/service upgrades. Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians when work cannot be performed in-house. Orders parts and supplies as required and maintain stock and inventory control. Be responsive to complaints in the areas of safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental needs through both personal contact and work order systems. Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records. Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with site. Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of all work areas. Assist with snow and ice removal from sidewalks, including operating snow removal equipment. Respond within 30 minutes when on call. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    Maintain a valid Minnesota Driver's License and driving record that meets NH&C driving standards. Minnesota Special Engineer’s Boiler’s License Crisis Prevention Institute Foundations Course Certification or obtain within six months of hire Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment 2 years relevant work experience in a similar trade or in building maintenance.

Schedule
  • 80 hours per two-week pay period
  • Monday--Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • On-call, every 6th week, which may include after hours, weekends and holidays
