HR Generalist at Hermann Forwarding – Houston, Texas

Position Overview:

Hermann Transportation is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HR operations and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS system is essential, and general payroll knowledge is a plus. You’ll play a key role in supporting our employees in the Southwest Region, handling everything from recruiting / onboarding to employee relations, payroll and benefit while working with all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full employee lifecycle and experience for employees.
• Maintain positive employee relations and professionally address employee concerns.
• Work with management across all departments to address HR-related needs and ensure smooth HR operations.
• Handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, while ensuring high levels of accuracy and timeliness.
• Utilize HRIS systems for maintaining employee records, managing benefits, and handling payroll processes.
• Assist with compliance, employee policies, and company-wide initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Human Resources Management or combination of education and experience required.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar Human Resources role.
• Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred; knowledge of other HRIS systems is required.
• A general understanding and experience of payroll processes.
• Proven ability to handle onboarding and offboarding procedures.
• Strong background in employee relations and ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
• Comfortable multitasking and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with all levels of management and provide support across various teams.
• Previous experience in logistics or transportation is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
