HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Tissue Recovery Operations Controller, youll play a vital role in advancing our mission. The Tissue Recovery Operations Controller coordinates, performs, and monitors pre- and post-tissue recovery activities for a region. Reviews medical records for eligibility criteria to determine authorized tissues for recovery. Provides direction to the Tissue Recovery Case Lead on targeted tissues for recovery and their proposed priority. Evaluates and establishes the appropriate recovery location, team members, and timing for the recovery, and monitors progress throughout the case. Handles communications with donation agencies and internal/external customers to initiate and conclude recovery activities.

WHAT YOULL DO
- Case Management: Partner with departmental leadership, Case Leads, and other LifeNet Health departments, such as the National Recovery Communication Center, the Research Operations Program Managers, and the Organ Procurement Organization to coordinate recovery resources and donor activities. Using available KPIs, metrics, and reports, evaluate current tissue volumes to identify targeted clinical and non-clinical tissues to be recovered each working shift to meet budgeted forecasts. Monitor daily activities of tissue recovery teams to direct the appropriate location and recovery team for an authorized tissue donation case.
- Evaluation/Screening: Accurately identifies and processes clinical and non-clinical authorizations to maximize donation opportunities. Access and obtain available electronic medical records for the donor chart. Evaluate an authorized donors eligibility against established screening criteria using the available medical records, medical history, and behavioral risk assessment information. Validate all generated research project requests for tissue cases following organ recovery.
- Logistics: Completes necessary arrangements to schedule external recovery site access and availability for tissue recovery cases. Monitors activities and scheduling of the in-house recovery suite to optimize room utilization. Arranges transportation of authorized donors between facilities when necessary. Reviews the training status of the available team members and works with the TRAOC and Case Lead to assemble the optimal team for case.
- Communication: Handles pre- and post- recovery communication with internal and external customers involved in each donation event, including documentation and charting of that communication. Manages communication with OPO teams involved in organ donors with clinical and research tissues with short preservation intervals. Follows all communication protocols to ensure effective interactions with donation stakeholders, including but not limited to Funeral Homes, Medical Examiners, and Hospital Staff.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement: Ensures quality outcomes of all work performed. Handles all communication providing exemplary customer service. Records accurate donor charting entries to support communication and case closure activities. Participates in departmental and organizational LEAN projects and initiatives. May support case related activities, perform recovery on cases, or other duties as needed and assigned.
WHAT YOULL BRING
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 years of work experience in Tissue Recovery (with a minimum of 2 years as a Case Lead)
- OR -
4 years of work experience in OPO-relevant, Donation Center or related work combined with Tissue Recovery (with a minimum of 2 years as a Case Lead)
- OR
4 years of related work experience in operational and process management, medical triage operations, or emergency medical service operations.
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
- Associates degree or Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Advanced degree in Nursing
- Certified LEAN Yellow Belt: Certification offered by LifeNet Health or an external accredited entity
- Project Management Certification (PMP or PIM) from an accredited entity
- Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) from the Association for Advancing Tissue and Biologics (AATB) (AATB)
- 4 years of work experience at LifeNet Health in Tissue Recovery as a Case Lead
- Project Management Skills: Ability to execute and manage complex projects

COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $27.10 to $36.14 / hour
Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $27.10 hourly/annually (entry level qualifications to $36.14 hourly (experienced in this role). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidates knowledge and relevant experience.
