Welder at Q-Lab Corporation – Westlake, Ohio

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Welder. This position will be responsible for TIG welding custom prototype parts of various metals including aluminum, stainless steel, steel, and brass, and MIG welding steel frames and heavy sheet metal up to 1/4" thick.

Responsibilities:

• TIG welding various metals including aluminum, stainless steel, steel, and brass
• MIG welding steel frames and heavy sheet metal up to ¼” thick
• Soldering of copper materials
• Using welding fixtures
• Tube cutting
• Welding of custom prototype parts
• Working from blueprints
• Inspection of parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Package or crate parts for shipment

Required Skills/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years general welding experience or a successful graduate of any recognized apprenticeship, or vocational program
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to read and work from blueprints and written specifications
• Operate various material-moving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jack, gantry cranes, etc
• Use of a variety of measuring devices such as a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, etc
• Working knowledge of basic computer functions

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Light machining experience is a plus
• Laser welding experience is a huge plus
• Plastic welding experience
• Stud welding of aluminum and stainless-steel threaded studs using a stud gun
