The Meadows Golf Club, a well-established private golf club in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking an experienced Club Accountant to support the financial operations of our hospitality-focused organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who understands the fast-paced, service-driven nature of golf clubs, country clubs, or hospitality environments and enjoys working collaboratively with operations and management teams.
Position Overview
The Club Accountant plays a key role in the day-to-day accounting functions of the Club, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and financial support to operational leadership. This position works closely with food & beverage, golf operations, membership services, and management to support a high-quality member experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Club Accounting & Finance
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reporting packages
- Perform daily POS closes and reconcile deposits across club departments
- Process Accounts Receivable (AR) related to club membership billing
- Assist management with researching and explaining variances
- Process weekly Accounts Payable and prepare vendor payments
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll
Computer Systems
- Utilize club accounting systems including POS systems and Great Plains general ledger
- Become proficient in all accounting-related software used by the Club
- Use Microsoft Excel extensively for reconciliations, tracking, and financial analysis
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Provide input and support for club-style budgeting and forecasting projects as needed
Experience, Education, and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a golf club, country club, hospitality, or resort environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a heavy emphasis on Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong customer service focus

- Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, team-based hospitality environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and follow up on open items
- Regular computer-based work to meet reporting and operational requirements
