About This Position

Description:

Position Summary:

Pullman Market is looking for a Sanitation Manager to join our team. They will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our network of restaurants and common spaces. They are the front line of oversight, training and motivation for our Dish, Porter, & Common Area Sanitation Teams.They must possess a strong background in sanitation practices, exceptional leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse partners. Reports directly to the Corporate Chef of Retail; manages all hourly Sanitation team members and departmental leads.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement robust sanitation procedures tailored to the unique needs of various outlets to align with industry standards and health regulations.
  • Work closely with Market staff to ensure seamless integration and maintenance of sanitation practices into their daily operations.
  • Lead and manage a sanitation team dedicated to supporting overall cleanliness in all common areas inside and outside Pullman Market.
  • Lead and manage all dish teams & porter teams in each full service restaurant.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure Dish, Porter and Sanitation staff are well-versed in sanitation protocols.
  • Stay informed about local health regulations and food safety standards applicable to restaurants.
  • Facilitate communication with health inspectors and ensure compliance during inspections.
  • Oversee the inventory of sanitation supplies for restaurants, coordinating procurement and distribution with the Chief Merchant & Receiving Manager.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee consistent adherence to sanitation standards in all outlets.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and celebrate successes.
  • Foster open communication channels between the Sanitation team, Restaurant teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • At all times provides a favorable image of Pullman Market, including market cleanliness (inside and out) and upholding staff appearance standards.
  • Prioritize keeping the team motivated and engaged daily, diligently working to keep morale high and foster a healthy, positive work culture

Personal Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sanitation management within the food service, restaurant or grocery industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation regulations and best practices in food establishments.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and technology specific to restaurant sanitation.
  • Ability to lead by example with a pleasant, approachable nature and a neat, tidy appearance.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team and maintain engagement.
  • Must be a problem solver and multi-tasker while maintaining high attention to detail, able to handle the pressures of coordinating Market & Restaurant sanitation operations and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse Pullman Market partners.
  • Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality.

Working Conditions:

  • A typical work week for this position is 55 hours. Hours may vary if the manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
