About This Position
ACET is seeking a H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flightline & CDQAR) in our Jacksonville, NC location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as a CDQAR from the primary discipline of flight-line MOS 6114/6174 during the contract duration.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems, including fuel, oil and hydraulic systems.
- Perform functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained.
- Monitor compliance and provide guidance in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Programs, (FOD/Confined Space/Lockout-Tag out/Fall Protection).
- Maintain aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA)
- Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations. Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems.
- Perform quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament) as required by functional assignment.
- Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance, vehicles, and equipment.
- Perform initial, in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
- Provide technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality work and flight line services.
- Assist in preparation, processing, and answering of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years aviation experience.
- 4 years' minimum experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) on Military Aircraft or FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) experience
- Must have a minimum of 4 years rotary wing aviation experience.
- Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6114/6174, equivalent skill designation from other services, or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
- Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
- UH-1 and AH-1 experience required.
- Must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card (CAC).
- Secret Clearance Required
- Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
- Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
- Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
- Able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
