Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Evening Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing residents living in the mission buildings and all evening activities. This role serves as a primary staff member available to support residents and address their needs after day staff have left for the day.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interactions with Mission Residents in our Program

  • Share the Gospel and encourage growth in Christ.
  • Monitor and ensure program residents are accounted for.
  • Provide support and supervision during evening meals and throughout the evening events.
  • Oversee evening chapel service and groups as required.
  • Provide access to medications and monitor in accordance with WSRM policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate compliance of WSRM’s resident conduct guidelines, collect samples for urinalysis, and administer breathalyzer.
  • Responsible for program men working out, including check-ins, medication management, and aftercare support.
  • Perform inspections of resident’s rooms.
  • Document incidents and write-ups accurately and promptly, submitting reports to the Program Manager, while responding to and diffusing situations to prevent escalation.

General

  • Ability to operate security and safety systems (alarms, fire panel, smoke detectors) and respond appropriately to emergencies such as fire, water damage, or accidents.
  • Work in cooperation with Night Security.
  • Communicate regularly with program staff and supervisor, providing reports to the Program Manager regarding resident needs, concerns, and program issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Biblical Studies, Human Services or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of previous ministry experience required.
  • Experience in substance abuse counseling, ministry, or working with individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges preferred.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mature Christian with a ministry mindset, committed to daily study of God’s Word and applying biblical truth to life while demonstrating Christ’s love and servant leadership through investing in others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, communicate, and provide biblical guidance and counsel with grace, truth, and love.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance to effectively support program operations and residents.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and discernment, with the ability to analyze situations, resolve conflicts, and handle crises calmly and effectively.
  • Computer literate, knowledgeable in Word, and Internet., Valid North Carolina driver’s license. First Aid certified or willing to get first aid certified after hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

The work is typically performed indoors interacting with a homeless population. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, weighing up to 25 pounds.

3pm-11pm; may be asked to work weekends
