Workplace Safety Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Workplace Safety Coordinator provides daily in-person monitoring of facility safety conditions and routine communication with team members. This role provides continuous onsite presence to reinforce safe practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conducts daily warehouse walks, equipment inspections, and observes work practices to ensure safe behaviors.
• Facilitates weekly engagement meetings and oversees forklift certifications.
• Ensures safety and material data sheets remain current and accessible.
• Conducts initial fact finding for incidents and monitors compliance.
• Maintains a balanced, collaborative environment where responsibilities can be shifted based on skill, experience, and operational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in an occupational health and safety role, preferably in a warehousing or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of MIOSHA/OSHA general industry regulations and safety compliance.
• Experience conducting safety audits, equipment inspections, and incident fact-finding.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification or active Forklift Train-the-Trainer certification.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and engage employees during safety meetings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and incident-tracking software.

COMMUNICATION

• Effectively and regularly communicate with the organizational staff across multiple departments.
• Support organizational values, principles, vision, and mission.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Stand/walk/sit for up to 8 hours per day.
• Bend and Twist occasionally.
• Reach/work above shoulders occasionally.
• Fine manipulations frequently.
• Gross manipulation occasionally.
• Push/pull occasionally.

PAY RATE & SCHEDULE

• Pay Rate: $25 - $30/ hour.
• Monday – Friday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm.
• Two Saturday shifts per month – will decide “floater day” off.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Typical Office Environment.

TRAVEL

• This position may require infrequent travel outside of the designated location.

POSITION TYPE

• This is a full-time non-exempt position.

RELOCATION

• Relocation expenses are not provided, and must be able to commute to our Holland, Michigan location on a regularly scheduled basis.
