About This Position
This Estimator will work under the guidance of the Director of Pre-Construction Services, in a team environment alongside another Senior Estimator reviewing scopes of work and completing estimates and bids for our multi-family clients. Using the top ranked software program, Procore, projects will include both interior and exterior work focused mostly on renovation and rehab work. Should be skilled in estimating for General Construction Renovation projects. Will also work on estimating for special new construction projects within apartment communities, such as mailbox kiosks, entrance signs, clubhouses, pool cabanas, tot lots, community playgrounds, etc. Willingness to travel to help with scopes of work to complete the estimates. Collaborate with the client, design manager and the entire renovation team on projects this is a great opportunity to showcase your talents in the construction field, estimating and project conception/completion.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Work closely with the Director to understand the client's desires and dreams as we
work to gather data to provide an all-encompassing estimate and marketing
proposal.
-Help make the client's renovation vision come alive in the Estimate and provide
valuable input on all phases of the project.
-Work out in the field as needed to see the scope of work from the beginning and
transfer those ideas onto paper in the Estimate.
-Read, understand, and interpret construction documents, drawings, and scopes of
work from a technical standpoint, and create an estimate within the client's budgets
and constraints.
- Develop RFI’s and clarifications to ensure adequate scopes of work, subcontractor coverage, costs, and general project conditions.
-Work closely with Procurement team to formulate pricing for all materials that will be
included in final estimates and bids.
-Organize and coordinate RFQ’s and relevant project information to assist in preparing actual cost estimates and bid documents.
-Look up pricing and give estimates for supplies and materials based on Scope of Work.
-Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships and files.
-Assemble bid files and the actual estimate itself, for senior management review and
approval.
-Obtain follow-up information from client point of contacts regarding factors of bid
submittals.
-Assist in developing ongoing subcontractor relationships for future bid submittals.
-This position requires good communication skills and professionalism. Willingness to
learn and be part of a close team with strong organizational skills. Represent the
Estimating department in helping to promote All Weather Contractor's multi-proposal
and aggressive bid efforts.
Qualified applicants will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
Very team-oriented with an open and engaging enthusiasm for all aspects of the Construction Renovation process, including a strong background in Estimating.
-High degree of computer and technology proficiency.
-Expert proficiency in Procore Construction software a real plus.
-Familiar with Builder Trend.
-Proficient with large Excel spreadsheets.
-7-9 years Estimating experience.
-Excellent communication, professionalism, problem solving skills, and critical thinking.
-Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of
general construction and/or construction renovation/rehab/restoration.
-Verifiable work experience in estimating and/or project management.
-Ability to maintain project work files, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
-Strong organizational skills with ability to work on multiple open projects
simultaneously.
