Duties & Responsibilities:
- A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) assists the care team in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with Cardiopulmonary disorders in an acute care setting.
- An RRT administers treatments prescribed by a physician for care of patients with abnormalities in breathing or associated disease process.
- Must be able to work independently and cope with emergency situations.
- Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy with a minimum of an associate
degree
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current South Carolina State License to practice and must maintain a license.
- Must be able to complete competencies yearly and maintain a knowledge base to include required education on new services and equipment.
- Positive communication with care team and patients/family members.
- BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS and PALS preferred but not required.
