The Position
We’re looking for a Field Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Field Claims Adjuster you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims in a timely, accurate, and customer‑focused manner. This role requires strong technical claims knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining detailed and compliant claim documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze claims by applying sound knowledge of policy coverage, interpretation, exposure recognition, liability determination, and loss evaluation to move claims toward resolution
- Maintain complete and accurate claim files, including documentation of all key activities, contacts, statements, scopes, and schedules of loss
- Review and analyze contractor repair estimates to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable industry guidelines and repair standards
- Provide expert opinions and technical guidance to cross‑functional departments as needed
- Maintain current professional and industry knowledge through ongoing education, workshops, professional publications, and industry networking
- Travel as required to inspect losses and attend meetings within the Maritimes
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Claims Manager
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in property claims adjusting
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation considered an asset
- Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset
- Adjuster license (or the ability to obtain) is necessary
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with excellent investigative and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
