EverCommerce - Senior Security Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an EverCommerce - Senior Security Engineer in the United States.

This role is an opportunity to help shape and strengthen cybersecurity within a fast-growing, distributed SaaS environment. You will take a hands-on approach to designing, implementing, and improving security controls across cloud, infrastructure, and application ecosystems. Working closely with security leadership and cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in maturing security practices and enabling secure business growth. The environment is dynamic, collaborative, and highly impact-driven, requiring both strong technical depth and practical execution skills. You will operate across multiple security domains, balancing architectural thinking with hands-on engineering work. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in evolving environments and is motivated by building scalable, real-world security solutions.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, implement, and enhance security controls across enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with risk and business requirements.
  • Partner with security leadership to mature cybersecurity capabilities and contribute to long-term security architecture strategy.
  • Lead or support initiatives across identity and access management, endpoint security, cloud and network security, vulnerability management, and detection/response enablement.
  • Evaluate existing security controls, identify gaps, and recommend practical, risk-based improvements to strengthen overall posture.
  • Define, document, and maintain security standards, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Support the deployment, integration, tuning, and lifecycle management of security tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure security controls are effective, scalable, and business-aligned.
  • Help build repeatable processes and contribute to a strong, security-first engineering culture.
Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience in security engineering, including implementation and administration of security controls in enterprise or SaaS environments.
  • Broad knowledge across key security domains such as IAM, cloud security, endpoint protection, network security, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience working directly with security tools and systems, not only in advisory or governance roles.
  • Ability to operate across both tactical engineering tasks and higher-level security architecture discussions.
  • Experience defining or contributing to security standards, documentation, or technical design frameworks.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment in balancing security risks with business and operational needs.
  • Comfortable working in evolving or less mature security environments where structure is still being built.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in distributed teams.

  • Salary range: $140,000 – $160,000 USD (based on experience, location, and qualifications)
