Job Description
The Early Education Lead Teacher (Toddlers) plans and provides high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction and care for children ages 1–2 years in a safe and nurturing environment. This role supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of students while maintaining strong communication with families and leading classroom practices. The Lead Teacher ensures alignment with the school’s early childhood curriculum, standards, and licensing requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time, non-exempt
- Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM – 4:15 PM
- Start Date: July 20, 2026
- Salary based on experience and qualifications

- Lead Qualified according to CDEC qualifications
- Knowledge of toddler development and early childhood education best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Preferred
- Experience working with toddlers in an early childhood or educational setting
- Familiarity with classroom technology and Google Workspace
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, responsive care and supervision for children ages 1–2
- Plan, prepare, and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and curriculum
- Create and maintain engaging learning centers and organized classroom spaces
- Lead daily circle time and structured group activities
- Support and guide potty training in partnership with families
- Promote positive social-emotional development through guidance and redirection
- Observe, document, and assess children’s growth, behavior, and learning progress
- Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, milestones, and daily activities
- Supervise and support assistant teachers or aides in the classroom
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to ensure program consistency and quality
- Follow all safety, health, and licensing guidelines and report concerns promptly
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required
- Assist with school events, transitions, and special projects as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the early education program.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work primarily performed in classrooms and playground environments with both quiet and noisy conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting on the floor, and moving quickly to respond to children’s needs
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Operation of classroom technology and equipment including computers, copy machines, laminators, and other instructional tools
- Mental functions include planning, observing, communicating, coordinating, and problem-solving
