Quality Systems Specialist in Wood Dale, Illinois at Chem-Impex

Quality execution is critical to how we maintain consistency, compliance, and customer trust across our operations. We are seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to own the day-to-day execution of our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring quality processes are consistently executed, tracked, and closed out.

• Manage nonconformance (NCM) investigations from intake through closure
• Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, documentation, and follow-ups
• Track and report key quality metrics and open items

• Coordinate change controls, deviations, CAPAs, and document revisions
• Ensure tracking and closure of open quality actions
• Maintain controlled documents and training records

• Support supplier qualification, documentation review, and onboarding
• Assist with supplier audits and performance tracking
• Verify Certificates of Analysis (CoA) to flag discrepancies impacting product consistency

• Maintain quarantine and nonconforming material records
• Support chemical disposal and inventory alignment
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure material integrity

• Support SDS management and hazard communication compliance
• Ensure alignment across SDS, CoA, and product specifications
• Maintain calibration logs and quality system records

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Systems (chemical or life sciences preferred)
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
• Experience with CAPA, change control, deviations, and supplier quality systems
• Familiarity with nonconformance management and quality tracking systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and digital quality platforms
• Familiarity with SDS or hazard communication (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree required
