This is a highly strategic, first-of-its-kind role sitting at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, and mergers & acquisitions. You will be responsible for designing and deploying AI-driven systems that transform how acquisition teams identify, evaluate, and engage with target companies. Operating within a global, decentralized investment ecosystem, you will directly influence how deal sourcing, research, and due diligence are executed at scale. The role blends deep technical expertise with strong business and M&A understanding, enabling smarter and faster decision-making across the entire deal lifecycle. You will work closely with senior corporate development leaders to build intelligent automation frameworks and data-driven workflows. This is a unique opportunity to shape an AI-enabled M&A function from the ground up in a high-growth software investment environment.
- Design and build AI-powered tools and agentic workflows to support end-to-end M&A processes, including sourcing, research, scoring, and deal execution.
- Develop LLM-based systems to identify, evaluate, and prioritize acquisition targets based on strategic investment criteria.
- Create automated research and intelligence pipelines to map markets, analyze companies, and enrich CRM data (Salesforce).
- Build AI-driven outreach tools to support personalized founder engagement at scale.
- Support due diligence and deal execution through structured AI-assisted frameworks and automated data analysis tools.
- Enhance internal databases tracking market intelligence, company profiles, ownership structures, and transaction history.
- Identify manual M&A workflows and convert them into scalable, automated AI solutions.
- Track and measure the impact of AI initiatives through defined performance and efficiency metrics.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and integrate relevant innovations into the M&A tech stack.
- 3–7 years of experience in AI/ML application development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and agent-based frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
- Proficiency in Python and experience building APIs, automation workflows, and data pipelines.
- Experience working with AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with web scraping, unstructured data processing, and structured data extraction at scale.
- Understanding of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and integration of AI tools into business workflows.
- Strong grasp of data infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and optionally vector databases.
- Solid understanding of M&A processes, corporate development, or exposure to private equity, investment banking, or VC environments.
- Ability to interpret financial statements, deal structures, and business models in the software industry (especially vertical SaaS).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and comfort working with ambiguous data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of autonomy, ownership, and ability to work in a fast-paced, global, and remote-first environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
