M&A AI & Technology Lead

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a M&A AI & Technology Lead in India.

This is a highly strategic, first-of-its-kind role sitting at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, and mergers & acquisitions. You will be responsible for designing and deploying AI-driven systems that transform how acquisition teams identify, evaluate, and engage with target companies. Operating within a global, decentralized investment ecosystem, you will directly influence how deal sourcing, research, and due diligence are executed at scale. The role blends deep technical expertise with strong business and M&A understanding, enabling smarter and faster decision-making across the entire deal lifecycle. You will work closely with senior corporate development leaders to build intelligent automation frameworks and data-driven workflows. This is a unique opportunity to shape an AI-enabled M&A function from the ground up in a high-growth software investment environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and build AI-powered tools and agentic workflows to support end-to-end M&A processes, including sourcing, research, scoring, and deal execution.
  • Develop LLM-based systems to identify, evaluate, and prioritize acquisition targets based on strategic investment criteria.
  • Create automated research and intelligence pipelines to map markets, analyze companies, and enrich CRM data (Salesforce).
  • Build AI-driven outreach tools to support personalized founder engagement at scale.
  • Support due diligence and deal execution through structured AI-assisted frameworks and automated data analysis tools.
  • Enhance internal databases tracking market intelligence, company profiles, ownership structures, and transaction history.
  • Identify manual M&A workflows and convert them into scalable, automated AI solutions.
  • Track and measure the impact of AI initiatives through defined performance and efficiency metrics.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and integrate relevant innovations into the M&A tech stack.
Requirements:
  • 3–7 years of experience in AI/ML application development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and agent-based frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
  • Proficiency in Python and experience building APIs, automation workflows, and data pipelines.
  • Experience working with AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with web scraping, unstructured data processing, and structured data extraction at scale.
  • Understanding of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and integration of AI tools into business workflows.
  • Strong grasp of data infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and optionally vector databases.
  • Solid understanding of M&A processes, corporate development, or exposure to private equity, investment banking, or VC environments.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, deal structures, and business models in the software industry (especially vertical SaaS).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and comfort working with ambiguous data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of autonomy, ownership, and ability to work in a fast-paced, global, and remote-first environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and industry benchmarks.
  • Opportunity to build AI-driven systems that directly shape global M&A strategy.
  • High autonomy in a decentralized, entrepreneurial investment environment.
  • Exposure to global software acquisition markets and high-value deal processes.
  • Strong learning environment at the intersection of AI, technology, and corporate development.
  • Career growth within a global software investment organization with long-term stability.
  • Inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work culture focused on ownership and innovation.
  • Opportunity to build impactful systems from the ground up with real strategic influence
