Platform Engineer at Metrea Management LLC – Stockholm, Stockholms län
About This Position
Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas—including airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refueling, special mission aviation, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation.
Wherever we operate, we build vertically integrated full stacks of capability—designing, building, and operating turnkey solutions that let customers scale capacity while benefiting from continuous cycles of innovation. With operators and engineers under one roof, we close the gap between lab and field—what we call connecting design with effect.
Metrea’s solutions are built for elegance: effective, efficient, and evolving. This approach enables our partners to do more with less and achieve outsized, asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, Metrea has facilities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
This role sits within the Digital and Synthetic area of Metrea. The Digital and Synthetic Capability Unit (D&S) is committed to providing mission-driven information solutions that seamlessly bridge the digital and physical realms. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and advanced platforms, we empower operational readiness and elevate situational awareness across diverse domains—including air, maritime, and space.
Position Summary
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the operational excellence and strategic evolution of our CI/CD infrastructure, serving as the central authority for build pipeline reliability, tooling integration, and developer productivity across our Unreal Engine development ecosystem.
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll take ownership of our complete CI/CD pipeline built on TeamCity, ensuring high availability across cluster of build agents that support more than 50 developers. You'll drive operational improvements while maintaining architectural scalability for our growing infrastructure. Working independently, you'll consolidate responsibilities currently distributed across multiple teams, becoming the go-to expert for build systems, version control workflows, and development tooling.
This role requires deep hands-on expertise with TeamCity configuration and management, Perforce version control (with active exploration of potential alternatives), and integration of critical development tools including UnrealGameSync, Robomerge, Slack, and Sentry.io. You'll leverage AWS and Azure infrastructure to build and maintain backend services for internal tooling, ensuring developers have robust, automated solutions that maximize their productivity.
Having worked with Unreal Engine in a DevOps capacity, you'll understand the unique challenges of game engine CI/CD pipelines and bring that expertise to designing solutions that balance build times, artifact management, and system reliability. You'll collaborate closely with technical leads across the organization to identify tooling gaps, implement automation opportunities, and establish best practices that scale with our expanding development team.
This individual will join our flight simulation team, serving as the cornerstone of our development infrastructure and enabling our engineering teams to focus on creating exceptional simulation experiences.

- Containerization: Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Observability: Implement monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
- Security: Apply DevSecOps principles, ensuring compliance with security frameworks (NIST, ISM).
- Collaboration: Work closely with software and simulation teams to integrate Unreal Engine assets into automated workflows.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with DevOps trends and Unreal Engine automation best practices.
What You’ll bring

- Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISM).
Desired:
- Experience with Unreal Engine packaging and deployment for simulation environments.
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

Our Firmware
At Metrea, our single core value, Rooted in Humility, and our four cornerstone attributes—Entrepreneurial, Systematic, Discerning, and Over-Deliver. These form what we call our Teammate Firmware. Just like technical firmware connects software and hardware, our Firmware is the constant interface between our mission and our people. It defines how we show up, how we work together, and how we solve complex problems.
Our team Firmware creates a web-like, hyper-collaborative, dynamically hierarchical way of working that helps us adapt quickly, communicate openly, and distribute decision-making to where expertise actually lives. It enables groups to self-organize around hard problems, shift fluidly as priorities evolve, and operate with the trust, curiosity, and discipline required in a complex mission space. This foundation allows us to deliver elegant, effective solutions and uphold our purpose: protecting our precious inheritance.
