Overview
Oversee the department's fiscal management and administrative operations; supervise, recruit, and mentor administrative and clerical staff; provide administrative support and direction for the department. Provide input and recommendations to advise the Chairperson and executive committees on University, School, and departmental policy and planning issues. Administer operating budget and donor funds, and work closely with the Vice Dean of Finance & Administration on special projects for the Music and Performing Arts Professions Department.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Performing Arts Administration, Organizational Behavior Management, or Higher Education
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Business Administration or Higher Education
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience in leadership and supervising departmental operations, and administering budgets.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience in higher education or non-profit environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and writing skills and attention to detail. Employee development and performance management and formulating policies and procedures. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Able to analyze and interpret complex and operational data. The ability to examine and redesign operations and procedures.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Identify strategies to enhance the effective delivery of operations and services.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
