This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Enterprise Risk Management in United States.
The Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide risk programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory expectations. This role drives the design of ERM frameworks, risk assessments, and reporting mechanisms, embedding risk awareness into decision-making at all levels. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders, executive teams, and key stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate emerging and existing risks across the enterprise. The position requires a forward-thinking, detail-oriented leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on implementation of risk programs. You will also play a key role in fostering a strong risk culture, integrating cross-functional capabilities, and enhancing the organizations resilience. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on the organizations risk posture, governance, and long-term stability.
Accountabilities:
  • Design, enhance, and execute enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, SOPs, and methodologies to ensure comprehensive coverage of key risk areas.
  • Lead ERM programs across business functions, including credit, cybersecurity, third-party, ESG, and other operational and strategic risk initiatives.
  • Develop and implement standardized process, risk, and control taxonomies to support consistency and effectiveness in risk management.
  • Oversee risk reporting and key risk indicator (KRI) development, providing insights for management, executive leadership, and board-level decision-making.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure risk appetite alignment, periodic recalibration of KRIs, and continuous improvement of ERM processes.
  • Serve as a thought leader and champion of risk culture, producing training, communication materials, and guidance for embedding risk awareness across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance and robust governance practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, risk management, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (FRM, CFA, CPA, CIA) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in risk management or related fields, with hands-on ERM program design and execution.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO), risk appetite development, assessment methodologies, and reporting practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience interacting with senior leadership and boards.
  • Proven ability to build processes, systems, and organizational capacity in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Experience designing enterprise risk assessments, developing KRIs, and implementing control standards.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% annually and work effectively in a remote environment when required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $128,481 $244,114 annually, adjusted for geographic location.
  • Incentive compensation plans based on personal and association performance.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Generous Paid Time Off, including vacation, sick days, holidays, and volunteer hours.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions and matching.
  • Disability and life insurance coverage.
  • Employee wellness programs addressing mental, physical, and financial health.
  • Flexible remote work options with occasional travel for team meetings.
