Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility:
Expectations are for an individual with exposure to PSTN Voice services, IP telephony, as well as knowledge and/or experience in providing network services, to install, configure, and turn-up Motorola E911 call handling solutions. Candidate should exhibit strong technical competency in areas of Computer Science, Networking, Telephony, and SIP-PBX. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also needed to team well with customers, project managers, account executives, engineers, and service technicians. The position will work both independently and, at times, in a team environment to implement NWN Industries Public Safety offerings.
Overview of Work Responsibilities:
- Technically lead the Install, test, and turn-up of complex, multi-site, 911 Call handling systems using Motorola E-911 platforms and 3rd party adjunct systems. This could be on site for larger installs
- Program and Test Sentinel VESTA as well as associated peripheral systems such as Analytics and HUD.
- Perform high level site surveys and attend call flow meetings as needed.
- Provide technical guidance to Management on all implementation and procedure documentation
- Clearly define, interpret, and communicate any problem, escalations, or resolution to internal and external resources.
- Provide configuration of Hewlett Packard and Cisco network switches
- Provide assistance with integration of customer serial interfaces. CAD, Mapping, ECats…
- Complete implementation documentation including call flow and elevation diagrams as required.
- Work with minimal supervision (self-motivated) and coordinate onsite activities with other technicians during implementations involving the service department or sub-contractors.
- Other activities as assigned by Team Manager.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- CompTIA A+ or 5 years’ experience with telecommunications and/or computer science.
- Knowledge of Serial-2-IP adapter configuration.
- Solid understanding of PSTN/ISDN principles and practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Microsoft Server 2008R2 and newer and Windows OS.
- Working level Knowledge of MS Excel and other Office products.
- Basic understanding of firewall and security concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years or more experience Implementing E-911 Call Answering Solutions.
- Vesta 4.X through Vesta 7.X and Aurora/Analytics experience with a I&M certification.
- Fundamental knowledge of Public Safety Answering Point Equipment and practices.
Work Environment/ Physical Demands:
- Must be able to maintain your composure and professional presence during times of stress.
- Must be able to work outside of normal business hours upon request.
Must be able to work in small environments, climb ladders, and handle lifting of equipment up to 35lbs.
Travel is required, 30%
