About This Position
Position Title: Radiologic Technologist
Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: 3:00pm-11:30pm (.1 FTE) Every other Friday
Position Summary
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a key role in our mission by delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include:

Performing a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures: routine, portable, fluoroscopic, and C-arm studies

Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient history and imaging details

Communicating clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and the care team

Maintaining cleanliness, functionality, and proper stocking of imaging rooms and equipment
-
Responding to emergent patient care needs and supporting workflow during busy periods
-
Adhering to radiation safety protocols and patient privacy standards
Essential Functions
-
Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Interview patients to obtain relevant medical history and verify essential information such as pregnancy status, prior procedures, and contraindications.

Accurately chart and document all procedures, including post-study details, observations, and patient education, in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Communicate effectively with radiologists, referring providers, nurses, patients, and family members to ensure coordinated care and proper follow-up.

Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, performing quality control checks and promptly reporting malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel or vendors.

Practice radiation safety principles at all times, including proper shielding, exposure control, and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards.

Prepare exam rooms and equipment prior to procedures and ensure all supplies are stocked and organized.

Position patients accurately and use appropriate imaging techniques to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing patient discomfort.

Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition or distress.

Assist in training, mentoring, and orienting new staff or students as needed.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.

Participate in continuing education and professional development to remain current with best practices and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
-
Completion of an accredited 2-year radiologic technology program
-
Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) (required)

Current ARRT certification (required)
-
CPR certification (required)

Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first attitude

Ability to engage with patients and families with empathy and professionalism

Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently during rotating weekend shifts
