We are seeking a strategic and experienced Controller to lead financial operations and provide executive-level insights that drive business growth. This role encompasses full oversight of accounting, reporting, and compliance functions while partnering with leadership to shape financial strategy and decision-making. The Controller will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in all financial processes, while fostering a collaborative, remote-first environment. The Controller will:
- Oversee financial operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger management.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness, preparing comprehensive financial statements and management reports.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting to support leadership decisions.
- Conduct profitability analysis by product, customer segment, and business unit, while developing financial models for new initiatives and investments.
- Optimize financial systems, integrate ERP platforms with e-commerce and inventory systems, and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, managing relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and cross-functional support to enhance overall financial literacy and capability.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred, Master’s or MBA is a plus.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3–5 years in a Controller or senior financial management role.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based businesses is highly desirable.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, financial modeling, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or SAP.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS principles, and US tax regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
- Ability to work remotely, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across time zones (Central Time alignment).
