Senior BIM Specialist at Excel Engineering, Inc. – Mounds View, Minnesota

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-driven Senior BIM Specialist to join our Mounds View, Minnesota team. Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and other software.
• Prepare constructible 3D content and detailed construction documents to support complex engineering projects and maintain good documentation for long support manufacturing plant support.
• Create 3D renderings of client industrial manufacturing facilities including existing systems, retrofit and new construction designs.
• Identify, interpret, and follow project-specific Design Intent, BIM Execution Plans, and Project Execution Plans.
• Gather and request design information from other disciplines to maintain schedule progress.
• Address modeling conflicts and provide clear communication related to clash resolutions.
• Ensure accurate, timely submission of drawing sets according to project schedules and BIM Execution Plans.
• Implement plan revisions and respond to design-related questions or issues.
• Provide technical support to project managers, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
• Help maintain and improve BIM/CAD standards, processes, libraries, and templates.
• Continuously grow knowledge of BIM methodologies, electrical/technology systems, and related equipment.
• Maintain awareness of applicable building and electrical codes, safety standards, materials, and industry best practices.
• Support a collaborative design team environment and assist with tasks outside of direct modeling as needed.
• Demonstrate multitasking ability by managing multiple projects efficiently.

Experience and Education

• 3–5 years of drafting and design experience in architectural and engineering drawings and documents.
• A.S. degree or higher in architecture, drafting, construction management, or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Proficiency with: AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Microsoft Office, BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navisworks
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and digital models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond to shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a desire to research new technologies and continuously learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Autodesk certifications (Civil 3D, Revit, or Autodesk Professional)
• Knowledge of Dynamo, AutoLISP, or scripting/automation tools.
• Experience working in a multi-discipline environment (civil, structural, architectural).
