Site Assistant at Valley Senior Services – West Fargo, North Dakota

SUMMARY:

Assist the Site Coordinator in all aspects of site operations, clean up, table setting, meal service, promote a

warm and inviting atmosphere. Assist seniors in center activities. Must be able to lift over 20 Ibs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include,

but are not limited to:

Direct meal service operations. Record daily participation on the attendance form, maintain daily signup

sheets to assist in ordering meals, create a well-rounded monthly activity schedule consisting of

crafts, recreational, and educational activities, supervise the serving of noon meal, keep inventory,

order food and kitchen supplies as needed.

Supervision of site assistants and volunteers. Schedule staff to help with daily operations at senior

center site, provide direction and help to staff.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include,

but are not limited to:

Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.

Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work

environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous

situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly

notifying supervisory personnel.

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience working with senior citizens and recreational training.

Ability to communicate effectively oral and written.

Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule.

Experience in record keeping and phone operations

Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting

Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Education/Experience - Prior work experience in a restaurant/food service setting is desirable.

Credentials/Licenses/Certifications - Valid driver’s license

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
