About This Position

Position Summary:
The Scientist Level I conducts routine and foundational scientific analyses, research, and data interpretation within the Biotechnology department. Working under general supervision, this role applies scientific principles and laboratory techniques to support project goals, ensures quality standards are met, and contributes to technical reporting and client communication.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard analytical tests and experiments using techniques such as FTIR, SEM/EDS, Raman, PLM, or other instrumental methods.
  • Prepare and analyze samples, ensuring accuracy, precision, and adherence to SOPs and QA/QC protocols.
  • Assist in method development, validation, and troubleshooting under guidance from senior scientists.
  • Interpret and summarize experimental data; prepare clear and concise technical reports.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support research, commercial, or environmental testing initiatives.
  • Participate in laboratory safety practices, training, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members, supervisors, and clients regarding project status and findings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 0–2 years of relevant laboratory or research experience (internships or academic research acceptable).
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, analytical instrumentation, and samples.
  • Requires standing for extended periods and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional lifting of laboratory materials (up to 25 lbs).
