Custodian FCCA at Flint Cultural Center Corporation – Flint, Michigan

Under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor, the Custodian will be responsible for the high quality, day-to-day cleaning of one or more of the facilities located on the Flint Cultural Center Campus. The daily responsibilities of this position will involve general cleaning, cyclical cleaning and special request cleaning of facilities. The Custodian is also responsible for standard set-ups and tear downs of classrooms and community rooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.

· Keeps building in orderly condition.

· Dusts furniture, walls, equipment and unrestricted areas.

· Cleans windows, mirrors and partitions with cleaner.

· Follows procedures for use of chemicals and cleaning equipment to prevent damage and maintenance to the floors.

· Informs Custodial Supervisor of any unsafe or broken building hardware or exhibit components, and the need for maintenance or repairs.

· Sweeps, mops, vacuums or scrubs all floors.

· Gathers and empties trash.

· Setting up areas for activities as needed.

· Refers and adheres to checklist for cyclical cleaning tasks.

· Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

· Evidence of stable education and/or work history.

· Ability to interact with the public while performing job related duties.

· Ability to follow proper cleaning procedures in cleaning bodily fluids and other hazardous materials.

· Ability to use cleaning products and chemicals and to follow safety procedures.

· Must be able to lift up the 50lbs.

· Must be able to remain on feet for prolonged periods of time.

· Must maintain regular and prompt attendance at work.
