About This Position
Description:
Help campers find their focus and hit the mark this summer! The Archery Instructor is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and skill-building archery programming for both Day and Resident Camps. This role combines hands-on instruction, strong safety leadership, and positive mentorship—teaching proper shooting techniques, equipment setup, and range procedures while creating a fun and encouraging environment for all skill levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach basic shooting technique, equipment set-up and proper arrow retrieval, and demonstrating how to fit equipment to an archer while creating a safe and fun environment.
- Provide proper information, training and supervision of the archery field.
- Follow proper area opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the safety of all campers & guests utilizing the archery field; remedy all unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
- Apply the archery field policies and procedures at all times.
- Instruct skills and safety classes at a variety of levels.
- Inspect, issue and maintain archery equipment; document unsafe equipment and remove from the inventory to be repaired or replaced.
- Provide first aid in emergency situations.
- Lead camp games as requested. Ensure camp games are lead in a safe manner in a safe environment
- Act as a senior staff member, working with the Camp Coordinator and other senior staff members, in the coordination of camp activities. In particular, the Archery Program as it relates to the overall camp program of both Day and Resident camps.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR or ability to become certified
- Archery Certification Level 1 or ability to achieve certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in archery or prior camp experience preferred but not required
- You must be able to teach campers, patrons & members the proper techniques and fundamentals of archery.

WORK SCEHDULE: Seasonal - June – August; Mondays & Wednesdays, 8:30am – 4:30pm - 16 hours per week
