This position requires an understanding of controlled environment construction, regional market dynamics, and complex sales cycles. The ideal candidate is Texas-based, highly connected within the market, and capable of developing and executing long-term business development strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives. This role will play a critical part in strengthening our market presence and positioning the company as a trusted partner across high-value, technical construction environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of business development or senior sales experience within the construction industry or a closely related sector
  • Proven success driving revenue growth through strategic business development efforts
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery models, products, and services across the Texas and Midwest regions
  • Excellent executive-level communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Texas-based candidate with an existing book of business in the controlled environment space (e.g., cleanrooms, data centers, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities)
  • Experience leading regional or multi-state business development efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and business development analytics tools
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications related to construction, sales, or business development

Responsibilities:

  • Execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets across Texas and the Midwest
  • Leverage an established network and book of business to generate new opportunities within the controlled environment market
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with owners, developers, contractors, architects, and engineering partners
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities through proactive outreach, market research, and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including sales, marketing, estimating, operations, and leadership to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on regional performance metrics

Skills:

The Director of Business Development will apply strong strategic thinking and leadership skills to drive sustained regional growth. Advanced relationship-building and negotiation capabilities are essential for securing complex, high-value projects and long-term partnerships. Analytical skills are critical for evaluating market trends, competitive positioning, and pipeline performance. Proficiency with CRM and business development tools will support disciplined opportunity tracking and forecasting. Adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving skills will enable success in the fast-paced and evolving controlled environment construction market.
