This is a high-impact leadership role at the forefront of building next-generation AI-powered media and intelligence experiences at scale. You will lead a large engineering organization responsible for designing and shipping intelligent, end-to-end product experiences that deeply understand user workflows and unlock new ways of working with content. Operating in a fast-paced, virtual-first environment, you will guide teams working on applied AI, including LLMs, retrieval systems, autonomous agents, and contextual intelligence capabilities. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical influence, requiring strong execution focus and the ability to navigate ambiguity. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional leaders to shape roadmaps, drive delivery, and define long-term technical direction. The environment is highly collaborative, innovation-driven, and focused on building category-defining AI systems used by hundreds of millions of users globally.
In this role, you will lead a large engineering organization and ensure successful execution of high-visibility initiatives while shaping the technical and product direction of AI-powered platforms. You will be accountable for balancing delivery, innovation, and operational excellence while building a strong engineering culture.
- Manage and grow a team of 12–20 engineers, ensuring strong performance, engagement, and career development
- Partner with product management to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and execute sprint planning
- Drive end-to-end delivery of critical AI and platform initiatives with high quality and predictable execution
- Set technical direction in collaboration with senior engineers and ensure strong engineering design standards
- Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure disciplined execution across backlog management, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Make strategic tradeoffs between feature delivery, technical debt, scalability, and long-term system health
- Oversee cross-functional initiatives spanning product, engineering, and infrastructure teams
- Ensure strong operational excellence, including reliability, observability, and production stability
- Conduct regular career development conversations and build strong leadership pipelines within the team
The ideal candidate brings deep engineering leadership experience combined with strong technical expertise in AI-driven systems and platform-scale environments. You are comfortable leading large teams, managing managers, and driving execution in complex, fast-moving organizations.
- 8+ years of engineering management experience, including leading teams of 20+ and managing managers
- 10+ years of software engineering or equivalent technical experience in backend or platform systems
- Proven experience building or integrating AI products, including LLM-based or machine learning systems
- Background in platform teams or developer-facing APIs with internal and external consumers
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and software development lifecycle management
- Experience with AI agent systems, model serving, inference pipelines, or distributed AI infrastructure preferred
- Strong systems design expertise, including scalability, fault tolerance, and observability in distributed systems
- Ability to evaluate AI models and make build-vs-buy decisions in production environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Results-oriented mindset with strong ability to balance speed of execution and long-term architecture quality
